What a great experience we had here. We were in NJ for a wedding and weren't sure about where to eat. We happened to be in a shopping center and came by this restaurant. It was cleaner and smelled better than most of the desi restaurants in the area - not to mention the service was AMAZING. The food was delish, came out quick and fresh. The owner was at the restaurant and he was very accommodating. We had a great experience, so happy we found this gem of a restaurant in Edison!

Great Friday night dinner experience in this renovated restaurant under new management. Saw that they just recently reopened. This is a fine dining cuisine and serve not just South Indian delicacies that they are famous for but also serve North Indian food and chaat varieties. The service was prompt and personalized. The food was delicious and reasonably sized portions. The presentation was awesome as well.

After renovation and "Under New Management" we visited this place. This is the new horrible experience. The new management seems don't care for customers. Mr. Manager loves to remain only on the cash counter to count money he is cashing in out of ridiculous recipes in this restaurant. We ordered Rasam and it tasted like Gujarati Daal :)) :)). The idly vada combo plate is a joke. The size of Idly and Vada was a joke. It looked like made for kids. The vada was not nicely fried. Quantity vs price didn't match here. They don't serve unlimited sambar. OMG. Complete disaster. It sucks. Don't waste your money here.

I would give this place 3.5 stars for the food. My parents used to come here often for dosas and I wanted to try it out because I had heard so much about the food from them. I ordered the mysore chatpata dosa which comes with a potato stuffing or can be made plain. I expected the dosa to be spicy as the menu mentioned. However, it was pretty mild but still tasted delicious.
The dish that the dosa was given on caused the dosa to stick and I literally had to scrap the bottom of the dosa off the plate because it got soggy from the moisture. That made eating the dosa somewhat annoying and I would've preferred a different type of plate. The sambhar is unlimited and it has a slightly spicy kick to it. There's no yogurt with the dosa which I would've preferred to have. I tried the red chutney and the coconut chutney which were both average.
In terms of the price, I felt it was a bit more than what I would normally pay for dosa. I've been to an unlimited dosa place for $10 in iselin which tastes just as good. -

Friendly service
Clean atmosphere
Ordered:
Telangana Aloo
Dosa Platter-chettinad, achari, and paneer dosas
Manchurian Achari Rava
Presentation: nothing to rave about, but it was presentable
Taste: pretty solid flavors
Overall experience: 4 stars.
Side note, my mom came here some time app for dinner and she wasn't impressed at all. At that time she wouldn't given them 1.5 stars, so for her to come back and give them a 4 is a big deal. It was my first time, so I'm hoping my 4 stands and didn't get downgraded.
